Different permission levels are used across the platform to ensure the safety of the individuals supported. Continue reading to learn about the various permission levels and options on LCO.
LCO bases permission and access on:
- Account Manager or User Status
- Life Domain Status
- Documents
When supporters are provided access, they can be added as either Account Managers or Users.

Account Manager
Account Managers have full edit access to all information on the account. They can add, view, and edit all events, goals, places, profile information, documents, and preferences. They must be made a User to provide anything less than full access.
User
Users have full access to:
- Planning tools (e.g., anything part of the LifeCourse Charting Session, such as About Me, Decision Making)
- Team Members (they can see but not edit permissions)
- Places
- Stream
Users have customized access to Life Domains.
Life Domains
Account Managers assign permission levels for each Life Domain, determining what Users can do within each tool, such as Schedule, Goals, etc. There are three permission levels:
- Most: Can add, view, and edit all goals or events within that Life Domain.
- Less: Can add or view goals/events within that Life Domain. They cannot edit existing goals/events, but can comment on and review them.
- Least: Can only see the events or goals they are tagged in to support. They can add goals or events to any domain but must tag themselves as a supporter to see them.
- By default, Users have "Least Access" to each Life Domain.
Documents
- Account Managers: Can access all uploaded documents.
- Users: Access is granted on a document-by-document basis.
